What the bench works on

iPhone, Galaxy, Pixel, iPad — current and a few generations back.

Brands a local searcher actually types — and the workhorses still in regular use today. If the model isn't listed, email the bench with the model number; we usually know whether we can keep it moving.

Common symptoms

What the bench hears at the counter.

If what your device is doing sounds like this list, drop it off and we'll take it from there.

  • Cracked top glass with the LCD underneath still good
  • Smashed LCD underneath the glass — full screen replacement
  • Battery that no longer holds a full day of real use
  • Battery that's physically swollen — hazardous, taken to recycler
  • Loose charge port or cable that has to be wiggled to make contact
  • Back glass shattered on a phone with a glass rear
  • Power button that has stopped clicking or stopped responding
  • Water damage triage — what works after drying, what doesn't

What a phone repair looks like

Diagnosis first, written quote, same hands.

No magic, no chain-store script. A bench phone repair is exactly what the warranty covers — and exactly what you signed off on before the work started.

The device starts on the bench before any work begins. We power it up, confirm the symptoms you described, and check the parts we're about to install against the actual model number and revision — not the one the chain store reads off the box.

Glass is OEM-grade when the supply chain has it; calibrated aftermarket glass where OEM isn't in current production. Either way, the part launches from the supply chain we trust, not a stockroom of unbranded knockoffs.

You handle the backup before the device leaves you. We will refuse to start a screen swap on an un-backed-up phone — we'd rather lose the sale than lose the data. Battery swaps come with the old battery taken to a household-hazard drop-off, not the trash.

On the way out you get a one-year bench warranty on the work — pickup, mail-in, or on-site handoff. We do not promise official manufacturer warranty repair; once a third party opens the device, that warranty is over for that device.

When the answer is "no"

What the bench turns away — so you don't waste a trip.

The bench says no to more devices than it accepts. Half the time the customer is grateful for the honesty. Here's what gets a phone or tablet turned away.

  • Board-level micro-soldering on the mainboard

We don’t queue chip-level rework, motherboard reballs, or the soldering work that requires a reflow station under microscope. For those we name the specialist shop we trust.

  • IMEI-locked or manufacturer-paired devices

Devices the manufacturer pairs at the IMEI or eMMC level to a stolen-lost list, or those with a software activation lock we can’t lift cleanly. We turn those away at the bench.

  • Discontinued models with no parts supply

If the screen, battery, or charge-port flex isn’t in current production and we can’t get it on the supply chain we trust, we don’t take the job. No third-party knockoffs installed to fill a slot.

  • Severely water-damaged mainboards

A device that has been submerged long enough for the mainboard to corrode can sometimes be saved by a specialist shop with ultrasonic cleaning; we don’t run that workflow in-house.

How a repair gets done

Drop it off, look it over, repair it, take it home — usually the same day.

Same flow whether the device walks in or ships to the bench. Same hands answer the email before, during, and after the work.

  1. Step 01

Bring it in or email a description

Drop the device at the bench during hours, or send a one-paragraph description with a couple of photos. Same-day email reply with a ticket ID so you can follow up without re-explaining.

  2. Step 02

    Free bench diagnosis

No-charge look-over before any work. You get a written quote — part, labor, expected turnaround — before the screen comes off. If we can’t source the part honestly, we say so up front.

  3. Step 03

    Repair at the bench

OEM-grade glass where it matters, parts launched from the supply chain we trust. Calibration and adhesive handling are part of the bench time — not an extra line item.

  4. Step 04

    Pickup the same day, usually

Most phone screens, batteries, and charge-port jobs walk out the same day. Tablets and phones with back-glass work usually take overnight for the adhesive cure. Same one-year bench warranty either way.
