Not every pack is a candidate for rebuilding.
Every pack is inspected before any work begins. We open it, read the cells, check the BMS or protector where one exists, and only then quote a price.
We turn some away. A physically swollen housing, a missing protection board we can't source, a cracked shell that won't go back together — those are "no" answers, and we give them to you for free during the look-over.
We do not claim OEM-equivalent safety, capacity, or compatibility.
The rebuilt pack is a service part, not a manufacturer replacement. New cells and fresh leads, but the original BMS and housing stay on the bench if they check out. Performance and cycle life depend on the cells we install and how the pack is used after it leaves us.

What the rebuild actually is
New cells, fresh leads, same hands.
No magic, no claims of matching the OEM runtime the day the tool came out of the box. A bench rebuild is exactly what it sounds like — and exactly what the warranty covers.
We open the housing, remove the spent cells, and fit new name-brand cells matched to the pack's spec — same chemistry, same capacity class, sourced from the supply chain we trust.
Leads are spot-welded (or solder-equivalent where the layout calls for it) with balance leads re-terminated to the new cell stack. The BMS or protection board is checked where one is present; if it's healthy it stays, if it's not, we tell you before quoting.
A basic capacity test goes over the bench before pickup or before the pack goes back into the mail. We do not promise OEM-equivalent runtime, cycle life, or safety certifications. What we do is honest bench work with a one-year warranty on the parts we touched.
When the answer is "no"
What we turn away — so you don't waste a trip.
The bench says no to more packs than it accepts. Half the time the customer is grateful for the honesty. Here's what gets a pack turned away.
- Physically swollen or crushed housings
A bulged, cracked, or punctured pack is hazardous waste. We do not open those — take it to a battery recycler or your local household-hazard drop-off.
- Dead or missing BMS/protector boards we can’t source
The protection board in a lithium pack is the reason the pack doesn’t ignite. If it’s gone and we can’t get a drop-in replacement, the rebuild isn’t safe to do here.
- Plastic housings that won’t go back together
Snap-tabs broken off, ultrasonic welds shattered, housings split at the seams with no serviceable shell available. We’d be handing you a rebuild that doesn’t latch in the tool.
- Cell cost past the value of the tool
Sometimes the cells and labor exceed what the tool is worth second-hand. We’ll say so up front — and we don’t charge for the look-over that gets us there.

How a rebuild gets done
Drop it off, look it over, rebuild it, take it home.
Same process whether the pack walks in or shows up in a box on the bench. The device stays in the local radius the whole time, and the same hands answer the email before, during, and after the work.

Bring it in or mail it inDrop the pack off at the bench during hours, or ship it ground-rate to us. Air shipping of lithium packs is hazmat-restricted — ground only, no exceptions.
Step 02
Inspection and written quoteEvery pack gets opened and inspected before we quote a price. No-charge look-over. You get an honest answer — sometimes that answer is "not a candidate".
Step 03
Rebuild at the benchName-brand cells, spot-welded leads, BMS/protector checked where present, balance leads re-terminated, basic capacity test on the way out. Same hands answering the email doing the work.
Step 04
Pickup or ground-rate returnLocal customers pick it up on the bench. Out-of-area customers get it back on a ground-service label we provide. Same one-year bench warranty either way.

$45 – $250 by pack voltage.
Final quote is after bench inspection. The look-over itself is free — no charge for the look-over even when the answer is "not a candidate".
